CALLING FOR WOMEN PARTICIPANTS

Come join us and be the members of the Singirl community!

Singirl is an online art project to invite women participants to join the Singirl community with the objective to form a contingent of 100 Singirls or more. The idea is to prepare the Singirl contingent for joining the National Day Parade on 9 August, when Singapore celebrates its independence.

Singirl is one of the series of many art projects created by Singapore Artist, Amanda Heng, to make enquires on the many issues of representation, gender politics, colonization and identity.

Singirl was first presented as part of 'The Air Conditioned Recession : a Singapore Survey at Valentine Willie Fine Art Singapore in 2009 and was part of the group exhibition, 'M.M I Love You,' by the Objectifs Gallery at the Objectifs Centre for Photography and Filmmaking from 5-28 August 2010.

Singirl.net is part of Amanda Heng : Speak to Me, Walk with Me by Singapore Art Museum at the 8Q @ SAM from 6th October 2011 till the 1st January 2012.

Requirements:

1. All women above the age of 18 are welcome to be members of this community.
2. To be a member, please fill in the form below, providing us with your name, email, date of birth and an image of your bare bottom (similar to this image on our homepage).
3. Once you have successfully joined the community, the image which you have submitted, will be posted online at our singirl.net gallery page. Image uploaded will not bear the identity of the member. Name, email and date of birth will NOT be posted online.

* As part of the project, it is compulsory for all registrants to submit an image of their bare bottom (please refer to the image at the top of this page). Registrants may submit the image within one month from the date of their initial registration. All registration without a submission of the mentioned image, will be considered incomplete and unsuccessful. By registering, the registrant allows singirl.net to post the submitted image online, on singirl.net, which will be accessible to all visitors of singirl.net. We reserve the rights to refuse or not include any inappropriate registration or image without explanation or cause.
